Tales and Tails

Bean's Books is a dream come true - literally. Growing up, I never wanted a party for a my birthday, I wanted to go the bookstores! It makes sense then that, all these years later, I'd end up owning  my very own.

 

This little shop fills the need that has too long been ignored not only in the local Central Arkansas area, but in the country in general. Few stores sell both new and used books; even fewer due to while having a solid, genuine Christian backing behind them. Too often bookstores are either purely religious or purely secular with only no man's land between. Well, we've staked our claim in the very center. If there's one thing you should know about Bean's Books, is that we're Christ-centered and Christ-forward in every single one of our decisions, be it from the books we buy, the books we shelve, the books we recommend, and the very way we get those books into your hands. The only reason we're here is because of God's mercy and grace. It's our intention to show everyone who walks through our wardrobe those same beautiful, invaluable blessings.

As for the actual books themselves, we carry a vast variety, all of which are either brand new or gently used. These genres include fiction, nonfiction, Christian, Christian Fiction (a passion of ours), fantasy, mystery, thriller, history biographies, and more. We're especially proud of our "Bean's Premiums" section. There, you'll find the higher-end, more luxurious copies, be they signed by the author or  from prestigious publishers like Easton Press.

We also go beyond just books! Our selection is full of journals, tote bags, teas, candles, art by local artists, bookmarks, stickers, shirts, hats, and book nooks! There's always a lil' something for everyone. We want to be your one-stop-shop for all book-related goodies to make your reading journey that much sweeter. 

In accomplishing that mission, we've established many programs meant to bring the local literary community together. Our most prolific is the trade-in system where you bring in your used books and get back either cash or credit. This quick and easy process lets you clear some room on  your shelf while making a decent profit! Likewise, we also host author events for local writers as well as a monthly book club/book of the month called Bean's Readers, both of which help bring people together over a core love for reading. Few things are better than that!

Now, why is it called Bean's Books anyway? The short answer is that it's named after my miniature schnauzer, Beignet, AKA Bean, my lifelong reading and writing buddy. The long answer?
