About Us

Owner Teresa Scherer hails from a small town in Northwest Arkansas, and received her education in cosmetology at Regency Beauty Institute in Fayetteville. Having developed a strong interest in caring for the largest organ of the body (the skin), she continued on to study esthetics and skincare.

In 2016 she and her husband Mike moved to Amish country in Pennsylvania, where there is a huge demand for all-natural products, and stayed there for almost six years. While working under an experienced Aromatherapist/Massage Therapist, who quickly became a wonderful friend, Teresa's passion for the skincare industry and the world of all-natural products continued to grow.

Upon returning to Arkansas, she felt compelled to open a spa and soapery that reflected the same approach to caring for the body and devotion to all-natural products that she had experienced in Pennsylvania. The Rustic Jewel is the result of years of learning, effort, and love, and she is so excited to get to share her passion with her customers.

Teresa and Mike have been married for 37 years, and have three  daughters, eight grandchildren, one Labradoodle (Reese), and a Tennessee Walking Horse (Beau). She loves being with her family and spending as much time with them as possible, and enjoys boating in the summer (where you will find her with a board on her foot and a rope in her hand) slalom water skiing, horseback riding, sewing, and singing. Her Christian walk and Faith in Jesus Christ are very important to her, and the basis for everything that she does.
